Vinnie came into our lives nearly eight years ago.
He was a rescue dog about 11 months old and as we didn't know his birth date we opted for 1 April since he made fools of both of us.
Vinnie had a problem with ankles - he bit them. So with a surname like Jones what else could we call him since he was proving to be such a "tough guy". This foible lasted about six months but when he realised he was biting the hand at the end of the arm attached to the spine attached to the leg attached to the ankle - he stopped.

He was a quirky little individual who loved his walks, his tugger, his rugby ball and mud. Glorious mud, let him get a sight or smell and he was in it. Oh yes, and horsey-poo that was another special treat! Vinnie also had a partiality for water and has left us demented many times on the banks of the reservoir by floating out of his depth and in danger of drowning because bulldogs don't swim very well - especially when they only use their front legs, the back ones trailing uselessly behind like streamers.
Like all bullies, as he got older his walks got shorter and we all became less fit. But that didn't stop him barking himself into exhaustion in the car on the way to Rivington where he enjoyed his walk, his get-togethers with all his doggie friends and his bowl of milk. Which he generously shared with all his friends.
Anyone who has loved and lost their dog will understand our feelings now that Vinnie has left us - devastated - on the 1 November 2006. He will always be remembered by those who knew him - especially when he was a young "Jack the Lad".
Vinnie knew he was loved and we knew he loved us - can anyone ask for more from their friend and pet?
We will always love you Vin
